Currently Loving: Fall Favorites Making Life Feel a Little Better

The clothes I keep reaching for, the beauty products that surprised me, and a few little things making home feel especially good right now.

I love a good “favorites” list, but only when it’s actually made up of things someone is really using.

Not products that just arrived in the mail.

Not things that looked good online.

Not twenty things I’m supposedly obsessed with all at once.

These are my current fall favorites—the things I’ve genuinely been reaching for lately.

Some are new finds.

Some I’ve been using for a while.

Some are practical, some are just pretty, and a few are things I didn’t expect to love nearly as much as I do.

And I think that’s what I like most about these kinds of little finds.

None of them changes your life.

They just make getting dressed a little more fun, your shower a little better, or a corner of your house feel a little more like you.

A Few of My Fall Style Favorites

This is exactly the kind of jacket I love for fall.

It’s oversized enough to feel relaxed without looking sloppy, and it’s perfect for those in-between days when it’s cool enough that you want another layer but not cold enough for a real coat.

I’ve been loving track jackets in general lately because they make even really simple outfits feel current.

Jeans, a tee, sneakers, this jacket—and you’re done.

I’ve been reaching for fitted tees again, especially ones with a little color or a vintage graphic.

This black Oregon tee works so well for fall because it gives you that darker base but still has enough personality that it doesn’t feel boring.

I especially like it with looser bottoms because the proportions balance each other out.

These have been such a good fall pant.

The camo makes them interesting, but what I really like is the fabric. They’re not paper thin, but they’re also not so heavy that they feel stiff or bulky.

They have that just-right weight for fall.

And because the fit is relaxed, they work really well with fitted tees, sweaters, track jackets and sneakers.

This was one of those little accessories that immediately made me think, okay, that’s fun.

I love taking something as simple as jeans and a T-shirt and adding one unexpected piece.

The knot shape and fringe make the whole outfit feel more intentional without having to actually work very hard at it.

Sometimes that’s all an outfit needs.

These surprised me.

I expected them to look cool. I didn’t expect them to be this comfortable.

They have a much more supportive feel than the really soft, cushiony sneakers I usually associate with comfort. They hold your foot really nicely without feeling too narrow or too wide, and they’ve been incredibly easy to wear.

And aesthetically, they go with almost everything.

Jeans.

Baggy pants.

Track pants.

Leggings.

They’re just different enough to make an outfit more interesting.

This color got me.

Sometimes by fall I get a little tired of everything becoming brown, black and beige, and I

love throwing in something unexpected.

The baby blue is beautiful, but having it in suede makes it feel especially good for fall.

It’s still a pop of color, just in a softer, richer way.

Honestly, I think color is one of the easiest ways to make a wardrobe feel fresh again without changing everything you own.

Beauty Things I’m Actually Using

Vintage bathroom vanity with perfume bottles, skincare products, folded towels and an oval mirror

My hair has been dry lately, and this has been giving it exactly what it needs.

It feels moisturizing without making my hair feel coated or heavy, and it smells amazing.

This has quietly become one of those products I just keep reaching for because my hair consistently feels better afterward.

And sometimes that is all I need a hair product to do.

This one was a complete surprise.

I’m usually much more of a body spray or scented mist person than a true perfume person.

But this one?

Yummy.

It has that warm, cozy quality I really love, especially once the weather starts cooling down. It feels like fall without smelling like an obvious “fall fragrance.”

That distinction matters to me.

This is one of my favorite little fall rituals.

After I shower, I put my body lotion in my hand and mix in about a dropper of pumpkin seed oil.

I especially love it with a vanilla lotion, eos Vanilla Cashmere is perfect with it.

The combination smells incredible, and I love how it makes that ordinary after-shower routine feel a little more indulgent.

Nothing complicated.

Just one tiny extra step that makes me enjoy the ritual more.

This is a newer find for me, and so far I’m really enjoying it.

My skin feels incredibly soft while I’m using it, and they have several scents to choose from.

They also make an in-shower body oil that I haven't tried yet, but it’s officially on my list.

This is one I’ve actually been using for quite a while.

I love products that make you feel good simply because you know you used them, and this falls into that category for me.

It’s an easy personal-care extra that leaves me feeling fresh and put together, and I recommend it whenever the subject comes up.

You can find it on Amazon or purchase directly from the brand, where they also offer bundles and other varieties.

The Little Things Making Home Feel Better

This might actually be my favorite category.

I recently finished decorating our basement, and I’ve been reminded how much a few tiny details can completely change the way a space feels.

You really don't have to redo an entire room.

Sometimes it’s one chair.

A small lamp.

A blanket.

A candle glowing when you walk into the bedroom.

Those things matter.

Travertine Tea Light Holders + Timer Tea Lights

I put one of these travertine holders on each side of our bed and added battery-operated votives with timers.

And I love them.

By the time we go into the bedroom in the evening, they’ve already turned themselves on.

There’s just this soft little glow waiting in the room.

It is such a simple thing, but especially during fall when the evenings start getting darker earlier, it makes the bedroom feel incredibly cozy.

This is exactly the kind of little home detail I love.

This was the perfect find for a small corner in our basement.

It gives me somewhere comfortable to sit while we’re watching TV, but the green also added exactly the color and personality the room needed.

It feels a little vintage, a little unexpected, and not like something I’ve seen in everyone else’s house.

Even better with a chunky blanket thrown over it.

There is something about a big knit blanket once fall arrives.

This one lives with the green chair, and visually the cream against the green is beautiful.

But more importantly—it makes you want to sit down.

And that's really what I want from my home.

Pretty, yes.

But comfortable enough that you actually want to live in it.

This little rabbit lamp makes me ridiculously happy.

It sits on a side table and gives off just enough light to create that soft ambient glow I love

in the evening.

It’s beautiful.

It’s slightly quirky.

And it’s different.

Those are usually my favorite things to put in a house.

I love vintage artwork, but finding actual vintage pieces you love at a reasonable price isn't always easy.

This gave me that same feeling without the hunt.

The frame, the moodiness of the artwork, the colors—it added so much character to the room, and it was surprisingly affordable.

One of my favorite Amazon finds lately.

The Things That Make Everyday Life Feel a Little Better

Looking at this list, I realized there really isn't one theme.

There are sneakers next to shampoo.

A suede handbag next to a rabbit lamp.

Perfume next to a swivel chair.

And maybe that actually is the theme.

They're simply things that have made ordinary life feel a little better lately.

A jacket that makes getting dressed easier.

A shampoo that makes my hair feel good again.

A tiny light that comes on beside my bed before I even walk into the room.

A chair that turned an unused corner into somewhere I actually want to sit.

I think we sometimes underestimate how much pleasure there is in those little things.

You don't have to completely redecorate your home or reinvent your wardrobe or buy everything new.

Sometimes one beautiful thing is enough.

One good sweater.

One different bag.

One lamp that makes the room glow differently at night.

Those tiny details are part of creating a life that feels like yours.

And lately, these are some of mine.

Until next time,

♡

Kelly
