Why I Created Her Light

There are certain women in our lives who shape us in ways we don’t even realize at the time.
Not always through big moments or obvious lessons… but in the quiet ways. The way they carry themselves. The way they handle things. The way they show up, even when life isn’t easy.
For me, those women became my compass long before I had the words for it.
Growing up, I didn’t have the kind of guidance a lot of people take for granted. By the time I was 16, I was on my own, figuring life out as I went. There wasn’t a roadmap. There wasn’t someone walking me through it.
So I paid attention.
I watched the women around me, how they spoke, how they handled situations, how they carried themselves in rooms. Even the little things no one really talks about.
And without realizing it at the time, they were teaching me everything.

The Stories We Don’t Always Hear
As I got older, I started noticing something.
So many women carry really powerful stories… and they just go unspoken.
Not because they don’t matter. Not because they’re not important.
But because life moves on. Things happen. And we don’t always stop and think about what we’ve actually lived through.
Some stories are quiet. Some are messy. Some don’t even make sense until years later.
But they all shape us.
And I’ve always felt like there’s something really powerful about hearing someone else’s story and thinking:
“I’m not the only one.”
Why Her Light Exists
Her Light exists because I know what it feels like to have to figure life out on your own… and how much it would have meant to hear someone else’s story back then.
Not the perfect version. Not the cleaned-up version.
Just the real one.
This space isn’t about perfection. It’s about becoming.
It’s about the women who shape us, whether they realize it or not. The ones who show strength in quiet ways. The ones who keep going. The ones who figure it out as they go.
Because those are the stories that actually stay with you.
The Women Who Shape Us
When I think about the women who shaped me, I don’t think about perfect advice or big speeches.
I think about how they lived.
How they handled hard things. How they carried themselves. How they showed up.
Those are the things that stick.
Those are the things you end up becoming.
And over time, you realize pieces of them live in you.
An Invitation
Her Light isn’t just about my story.
It’s about all of ours.
If there’s a woman who shaped you…If there’s something you’ve been through that changed you…If you’ve ever had to figure things out on your own…
I would love to share that here.
Because your story might be the one that makes someone else feel a little less alone.

Final Thoughts
We don’t always realize it in the moment, but the people who shape us leave something behind.
A way of thinking. A way of showing up. A way of becoming.
Her Light is just a space to recognize that.
To honor it.
And to make sure those stories don’t go unheard.
A Question for You
Has there been a woman in your life who shaped who you are today?
What’s something she taught you, even if she didn’t realize it at the time?
